There is strangeness in every individuals,
And there is monstrosity within ourselves.

This performance delves into the "monstrosity" within humans - a constantly transforming, self-reconstructing self that exists beneath the surface of normalcy. It is never finished, never completed; it is both destructive and constructive. To put it another way, it is always 'becoming'.

The work explored the symbiotic relationship between self (as a fluid, undefinable being) and skin (as a cocoon that nurture the being). The skin that appears in the video is organic, acting as a vital organ that absorbs the environment and transforms the outside into the inside. The skin is a womb for rebirth, a cocoon for metamorphosis, a home for nurturing, and a boundary for us to understand and be understood by the world.
The moving-image work "The _____” explored the symbiotic relationship between self (as a fluid undefinable being) and skin (as a cocoon that nurture the being). The skin that appears in the video is organic, acting as a vital organ that absorbs the environment and transforms the outside into the inside. The skin is a womb for rebirth, a cocoon for metamorphosis, a home for nurturing, and a boundary for us to understand and be understood by the world.

Through a process of narration and performance, the protagonist of the video, the monster, attempts to break through the skin, and to re-examine and recognize its social identity beyond the skin, and its self-existence beneath it. The monster is both alien and ourselves.
